Generally when the body is not functioning properly, there are 2 reasons why. Either there is too much of something or not enough of something.
A couple easy examples:
When someone is very dehydrated the body will exhibit symptoms of thirst, headache, fatigue or hunger. Their body is in need of water. If the symptoms are due to dehydration, they will dissipate within a few minutes of drinking 8 ounces or more of water..
When someone has a hangover due to too much alcohol consumption they may exhibit a headache, nausea, fatigue and brain-fog. Their body has an excess of alcohol and their liver is struggling to process it. Generally, water, rest and time will address this symptoms. Additionally, ingesting some type of healthy fat will also support the liver’s recovery.
The same is true for many other "mild" symptoms which can be attributed to ones body having too much or not enough of something.
Sinus congestion and excessive mucus could be a reaction to a difficulty in digesting dairy products... Yes, it is not always a symptom of digestion when something is out of balance.
Interesting…. Anxiety, constipation, heart palpitations and cravings for chocolate have been traced to a deficiency of magnesium.

Habits make up a portion of our day, while we are running on auto-pilot. More of these are good and some not so good. In reality, one does not quit a habit, without replacing it with another.
The challenge is to identify the triggers for the bad habit and incorporate new ones with healthier choices.
Trying to quit smoking? Trying to cut back on or quit sugar? Trying to drink more water? Trying to exercise more?
For many its a physical addiction to the bad substance. For many its a stress relieving or social habit. For many unfortunately it maybe both.

We have episodes of resilient wellness and experience periods of illness.

It's about Balance. Even the most "practiced" yoga instructor cannot hold a tree balance pose "constantly". Its about making small adjustments on a regular basis to "re-steady" our Balance. The more practiced you are at "re-steadying" yourself.. for Balance... the more habitual it will be. Take your time... and practice some Balance.
Learn to release the old
What beliefs and emotions do you need to heal? Look around at your life right now. What are you thinking? What are you talking about? What issues are cropping up in your life? Who are you talking about? What are you remembering? Who is coming back into your life? What hurts? Is that feeling familiar? When have you felt it before?
Once you’ve identified what you’re feeling and thinking, release it. Let the energy go. Let it leave your body. You can chatter all you want about what’s going on with you, but that doesn’t release the energy from your system anymore than talking about a splinter takes it out. Sometimes the process will sting just a bit when you pull out the splinter. But don’t worry. It won’t hurt for long. And soon you’ll feel better than you felt in a long time.
Often the process of releasing all toxins can be as gentle and natural as the way a flower or a tree grows with sunshine and rain, a little bit of fertile soil, and a little pruning and weeding.
Growth can be gentle now. Growth can be fun. Breathe in new air. Breathe in new energy. Exhale the past, it’s feelings, beliefs and toxins. Let it go. Let yourself be transformed.
