Mindful Movement is for anyone who is stiff, achy, and dealing with compromised mobility due to aging, repetitive strain, poor posture, or inactivity. This session is ideal for those looking to simply add more movement into their daily routine.
Participants are guided through various movements with a focus on breath to improve balance and strength. This approach gently creates mobility where stiff achiness generally resides and may support rehabilitation as one recovers from an injury. The focus addresses working to regain movement function typically lost with aging and chronic pain conditions.
Mindfulness is experienced as participants are verbally and visually provided guidance for breath, balance, movement and personal awareness of surroundings.
Rebecca developed this yoga-inspired session, based on over 20 years of her experience as a massage therapist specializing in chronic pain management.
Wear loose fitting flexible clothing for movement.
60 minute in person session - Please notify teacher if any of these are needed -a chair, a yoga mat or gripper socks (required for your safety if you prefer to not be barefoot in the studio). Any other necessary supportive equipment will be available.
30 minute Zoom session- Please consider having have a yoga mat, chair and any other necessary supportive equipment available.
